VINNY KABAT

Vinny Kabat is a Chicago-Based musician primarily specializing in electric bass and violin. He received his bachelors in Jazz Studies from Elmhurst College and is currently a freelance bassist throughout the Chicago area. He can frequently be seen playing in musical pits throughout Illinois and with Jimi Hendrix/Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute band Voodoo Child. Power trios Lord Waffle and Skunk are both original projects that feature compositions of Vinny's. He enjoys jazz-fusion music that explores odd time signatures and is thrilled to do so in Callaloo as well as with Wanees Zarour's Middle Eastern fusion ensemble East Loop and Aimee Gwen's Pat Metheny Project. In addition to performing, Vinny teaches both privately and through Altered Stage in the West Loop.
